Baskonia vs Anadolu Efes (-6.0) 159.5
I love this slate today, and a large part of that is due to the value that this game presents us. Baskonia will be without Luca Vildoza today, and that should give us more confidence that we see full minutes from Pierria Henry.
He’s the most expensive he’s been all season, but we should see 30+ minutes from him, and I’m willing to pay the tag for him today.
I have even more interest in Zoran Dragic though, he should pick up some backcourt minutes from Vildoza. He was already too cheap, and now he will be one of my highest owned plays on the slate.
Rokas Giedratis could get some extra looks today but he remains a secondary play for me.
Instead, I’d prefer to have shares of Achille Polonara or Alec Peters, and yes you can’t deny his steady production when he gets the minutes.
Tonye Jekiri is a fade for me today, wouldn’t scoff if I saw him in a lineup though.
The value continues on the Efes side of the game.
Roddy Beaubois and Bryant Dunston should remain out, Tibor Pleiss is doubtful with an undisclosed issue. Vasilije Micic is questionable. It was two weeks ago to the day that he was ruled out for “at least two weeks” with a back injury. I’m not sure they rush him back here.
If he remains out, you can go to Shane Larkin or Krunoslav Simon with confidence.
You can also rotate through the forward value here starting with Adrien Moerman even at the elevated price. I’ll also look to Chris Singleton and maybe even James Anderson, both should see 30 minutes or more here.
If you’re scraping the bottom of the barrel here you can take a shot on Sertac Sanli if he starts again.
Priority Plays: Dragic, Larkin, Henry, Simon
Secondary Plays: Moerman, Polonara, Singleton, Giedratis, Peters, Anderson, Jekiri, Sanli
Barcelona (-6.0) vs Zalgiris 154.5
My least favorite game today, but there are still some really strong plays here. Starting with the first-place team (well, they need a win today to keep pace with CSKA Moscow), Barcelona’s studs have lost minutes frequently this year due to blowouts.
Nikola Mirotic is my favorite play here at a massive price tag. If we get 30+ minutes from him in a competitive game, he can break the slate.
Not far behind is Nick Calathes, who can give us a great return on that price if he gets 28+ minutes.
The only two secondary plays I have here are Brandon Davies and Alex Abrines, I’m fine getting Barca exposure to those two.
Marius Grigonis is my main target here at $8.2k, but I wouldn’t hesitate to pivot to a lower owned Thomas Walkup if it can upgrade your lineup in another spot. Both players can fill it up for their price points, but I usually prefer Walkup when there’s an injury somewhere else on the depth chart.
You can also run Joffrey Lauvergne or Nigel Hayes from the frontcourt here. I’ve enjoyed watching Rokas Jokubaitis play this year, but I can’t get to him today.
Priority Plays: Mirotic, Calathes, Grigonis
Secondary Plays: Walkup, Abrines, Lauvergne, Davies, Hayes
Khimki vs Bayern Munich (-2.5) 164.5
This will be the best game on the slate from a DFS standpoint.
Highest projected total on the slate with the smallest projected margin.
For Khimki, Dairis Bertans will sit, but Devin Booker should make his long-awaited return.
Stefan Jovic is going to make his season debut soon, and today could be the day.
Regardless, I’m all about playing Alexey Shved today, I don’t care that he’s the most expensive play on the slate, he and Mirotic are worth it today with all the value.
In non-Shved lineups you can run Erick McCollum out there, if he gets hot, he can give you 25+ fantasy points.
If Booker plays I’m fine playing him at what should be lower ownership, but if he sits again, slam in Jordan Mickey, or pivot to Greg Monroe, I’d want one in the majority of lineups in that scenario.
I’m not a fan of Jonas Jerebko or Janis Timma with the rest of the frontcourt depth chart healthy.
Unfortunately, we can’t just load up on Bayern in this matchup, the main targets are all priced pretty accurately, but there’s still some meat on the bone with Wade Baldwin’s price. He’s my favorite target on Bayern tonight, and while you can get tournament-winning performances from Vlad Lucic or Jalen Reynolds, I wouldn’t want more than one of them in my lineup today.
I do have an interest in some of the cheaper options for Bayern today, and Zan Sisko is a low owned guy who could thrive in this matchup if he can keep his hands to himself. His foul rate is outrageous lately. I prefer Paul Zipser for he should end up as the main benefactor of Malcolm Thomas being released.
Priority Plays: Shved, Baldwin, Lucic
Secondary Plays: Booker (if he plays) Mickey (priority if Booker out), Reynolds, McCollum, Zipser, Sisko
ASVEL vs Real Madrid (-11.5) 158.5
The pricing on this game is just atrocious. This is where we will get the majority of our ownership today.
Moustapha Fall is cheaper than he was this time two weeks ago. He’s had down games since, but he’s still too cheap. It’s a tough matchup but this price is wild. Wouldn’t fault anyone for locking him today, he should be massively owned.
David Lighty has been a man possessed the last two rounds, going for 30+ fantasy points in each after breaking 19 just once in his first 7 games.
I’m of the mind that this is a bit of a mirage, and there are too many other options in this price range for me to focus on playing Lighty today.
I’d rather pay up to Norris Cole, even in a bench role he is the best guard on this team and I think he’s going to hit 30 points at some point this month.
Guerschon Yabuseleis so dang cheap today for what I think he should be producing, but he hasn’t produced a score that would get us to the top of the leaderboard since October, so I’ll be fully off him today in a tough matchup.
If you want to play the blowout here you can look to William Howard, he made his return from a month long injury in the make-up game Tuesday and went off by hitting all 4 of his threes.
You can also look to Allerik Freeman for salary relief if you think this blows out, but I’m likely not going to get there today with so many other great mid-range values.
Trey Thompkins is where I’m starting with Real today, assuming he starts again he’s as strong a play as there is.
Not far behind is Sergio Llull who is an attractive play even in what should be high teens to low 20s in minutes. The assist opportunities and slight minutes increase are huge for a guy who produces at such a high rate.
In non-Llull lineups, you can save a bundle on Nico Laprovittola who should start at the point again.
We can also spend up for Walter Tavares or Anthony Randolph, but I prefer the cheaper options on this team.
You can Gabriel Deck as the last man in.
